Blue wave began as a simple form being prepared to receive a pine needle rim. The rim was woven during the Shelter in Place for Covid-19 as an expression of the ocean, which is untamed.
This blue finish is comprised of multiple layers of oxidizing paint in different shades of blue. It is finished with a satin finish polyurethane for protection. Pine needles dyed black were used with black waxed linen thread to create the woven top edge. Blue mother of pearl was added to complete the theme of Blue Wave.
