Ginkgo Sunrise Sprig

Ginkgo Sunrise Sprig is indicative of the beautiful shades of green the spring brings to our lovely Ginkgo Biloba in Northern California. The leaves and branch are carved and rest highlighted in the gold leafed window and sun that is peeking behind the branch on this graceful piece. A carbon black paint medium is used to “disappear” the background and allow the beauty of the gold shimmer and chartreuse and spring greens to stand out. I can promise that she is more lovely in person even than her beauty in photography.

Coming in at 9 inches tall, this green and black beauty is a petite version of most of my ginkgo open vessel work to date. She is 6 inches wide and deep and rests on a simple base of carved black wood.
