Persimmon Vessels are a celebration of the Fall season in the “round.”
This special collection was created for my annual fall collection. They come in a range of sizes, the main characters are painted simply in a backdrop of gilded, carved windows. Adorned with bamboo/reed and brass adhered tops.
The persimmons and detail are pyro engraved first, the windows are carved away to look as though the persimmons are growing through the open frames. Alcohol inks are used in layers to allow the markings of the skin of the gourd to show through. The window frames are gilded and my signature leather look is applied to the body of the gourd. The final step, hard wood stands are permanently adhered so they have a fittingly attractive base that shows off the beauty of each sculpture.
Protected with a satin finish UV polyurethane. Like all fine art, keep out of direct sunlight and away from moisture.
